My love of painting comes from my love of light. My greatest joy in creating art is to paint images where we can catch the spark of light shining through and see the magic where Spirit dwells. I do not plan any of my paintings. Rather, they emerge from layers of color and form, often from days where nothing works and all I create is “mud”.
Suddenly, without warning, a picture will simply happen, and I watch as my hands do the work. All of the layers that came before, remnants of frustration that finally give way to beauty, give depth to the final picture.
